Dear Resident

Dissolution of Curnock Estate Tenant &Residents Association (TRA)

I am writing to you to let you know that despite the best efforts of some of the residents, we have not had enough support from the residents of Curnock Estate to set up a Tenant and Residents Association.

Therefore, we have no other option but to move forward to dissolving the current TRA. A meeting will be held on the 21 May 2014, 6:30pm at The Marr 11-17 The Marr, Camden Street, London, NW1 OHE, to formally dissolve the TRA.

All residents are invited to this meeting.

We will be complying with your constitution which states that:-

a. The TRA can only be dissolved by a special general meeting called to consider a motion to dissolve the TRA with 14 days’ notice to all members of this intention.

b. The TRA can only be dissolved if all members are notified of this intention 14 days in advance and two thirds of the members present vote for the motion to dissolve the TRA.

c. The meeting shall decide on the disposal of any assets remaining after the satisfaction of debts and other liabilities.

d. All assets of the TRA must be applied to charitable purpose agreed with the members of the TRA. This can be the Lord Mayors Charity.

e. Any Council assets the TRA has been permitted to use, but which have not been transferred into ownership of the TRA by the way of outright donation or gift must be returned to the Council.

If in the future the residents would like to form a tenant and residents association please feel free to contact me at any time.

If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact me on 020 7974 1166 or amran.ahmed@camden.gov.uk.

Yours sincerely

Amran Ahmed
Housing Officer

Subject: RE: Meeting to dissolve Curnock TRA – CANCELLED(?)

Dear Resident

Please accept my apology for the confusion, but the date of the meeting was incorrect and should have been 21 May 2014.

I another letter was delivered immediately with the correct date but unfortunately a misunderstanding with Caretakers occurred, therefore, Goldthorpe and Mexbourough was missed out.

However a letter with correct date will be delivered this morning. I hope to see you at the meeting on 21 May 2014, 6:30pm at the Marr.

Once again I am sorry for any inconvenience

Kind regards

Amran Ahmed
Estate Officer

  1. PLEASE CAN YOU EXPLAIN WHY OUR TOILETS WHEN FLUSHED OUR EXTREMELY NOISY ?
ALSO WE CAN NOW HEAR BOTH OUR NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOURS AND UPSTAIRS NEIGHBOURS TOILETS BEING FLUSHED ?
THE NOISE IS JUST AWFUL VERY LOUD AND THE NOISE LINGERS ON FOR A WHILE THROUGH THE WHOLE HOUSE.
TNIS AS ONLY HAPPEND SINCE THE WATER DISRUPTION TODAY.

    • We had that problem in Goldthorpe twice. Once when they did the replacement of the cold water tanks and once because of the vibration via the central heating system/radiators.

The first problem was solved after a few days when Apollo finally adjusted (reduced) the water pressure while the other is still ongoing and is reduced by turning the radiators valves to number 5 or full setting.

PS Please post questions like the above as “Blog Entry” or “FAQ” in the future. Thanks.

  2. Yesterday there were only a couple residents on the meeting but nobody from the council or the old TRA. Is that some kind of a joke?
