Part of the Curnock Street Estate was in complete darkness yesterday fro many hours after a fire on an underground power cable. The fire brigade arrived on Pratt Street in order to help people who had been trapped on the lifts inside the offices on Pratt Street.

Some buildings were unaffected but Thurnscoe, The Marr, Darfield and half of Connisborough were without electricity.
