Broken Entrance Door at Goldthorpe – FIXED

The main entrance door which is located between Flats 21 and 3 in Goldthorpe does not close properly. In order for the door to close securely (and for the magnetic lock mechanism to work) you have to pull the door really firmly.

Many people may not be aware that the door isn’t being closed securely behind them. Consequently this may lead to a breach in security for residents.

UPDATES

24-05-2010 12:11 Housing Repairs Team informed us that: “An order has been raised to our contractors at Camden Building Maintenance and they will attend on Tuesday 1st June. The reference number for the order is 975926/1, and they will specifically be looking into the problem with the metal hinged door closer to the communal door.”

24-05-2010 12:41 We asked the Housing Repairs Team: “What is the normal response time for repairs like that? Eight days seems quite long time especially if the contractor needs extra days for ordering the spare parts.”

24-05-2010 12:43 Tracy Seaborne (Repairs Officer) informed us that: “With regards to the Communal Door to the building, if the door isn’t closing due to the electronic fault we will arrange for contractors to attend within 24 hours. With door closers, we will book the earliest appointment in the diary that the contractors can offer. Unfortunately, because the appointments are heavily booked this week and the impending Bank Holiday is upon us this is the earliest date that they can attend.

Please note, that we also do not include weekends or bank holidays dates within our response times.

As a result of this, I have requested that contractors from Lakehouse check the Communal Door Entry system and they should attend within the next 24 hours. The reference number for this order is 976148/1. If they are unable to remedy the problem on site we will need to wait till Camden Maintenance attends next Tuesday.”

25-05-2010 10:14 Tracy Seaborne (Repairs Officer) informed us that: “I have now received clarification from Lakehouse contractors who attended yesterday’s appointment (reference number 976148/1) that they will be returning today to carry out the required repairs to the communal door. They will be replacing a new track for the door entry closing mechanism. This should in turn remedy the existing problem with the main entrance door at Goldthorpe.

I will advise our contractors at Camden Maintenance not to attend next Tuesday 1st June as the work is now being carried out by Lakehouse instead. The appointment will now be cancelled.”

25-05-2010 18:00 The entrance door has been fixed.
