Half of the Communal Lights on the Curnock Estate are not working.
All communal lights in Goldthorpe, Billingley, Mexborough, Barnborough and Darfield as well as the communal areas between those buildings are not working since 3 am.

On the 01-02-2012 at 06:20am we sent the following email to the Housing Repairs Team:

Dear Sir or Madam,
All the communal lights in Goldthorpe, Billingley and the area between Goldthorpe, Warmsworth and Barnborough are off since 03:00am this morning. Could you please arrange for the contractors to fix the lights?
Another light that is not working is the one light that is located close to the ramp that leads to Goldthorpe. This ramp is close to Bayham Street entrance of the Curnock Estate between Darfield and Goldthorpe.
Please provide us with reference numbers and a timeframe for the repair.

I have raised an order (1289559/1) for the contactor to repair the communal lighting. The repair should be completed within 1 working day. I suspect the problem is related to the communal lighting circuits and or timers.
In regards to your email dated 01/02/2012 (second paragraph), where you mention a specific light is not working. I would be grateful if you could provide more information regarding the location of this light. It is easiest to locate a non working light when the location is described in relation to a property number, i.e. light attached to Goldthorpe building nearest to flat 12.

Dear Mr Rexha,
The lights have been repaired and they were working at 18:30 when I came back to my flat but they have spectacularly failed at 19:48. In addition to the previous building lights we now have more communal lights failures including the Barnborough building.
Could you please let me know what have the contractors repaired exactly? More information/details the better.
Are the contractors qualified to do this kind of job?
Do they know anything about electricity?
What is the name of the contractor?
Why every repair takes at least a couple of visits before your contractors manage to put them right?
I am looking forward for your reply whilst we are still looking for our candles in order to be able to safely leave our homes and go to have a shower in the gym (no hot water at home). 21st century!!!

I can confirm the contractor attended this morning. They attended within the agreed timescale as stated in my email dated 01 February 2012 14:36.
The failure was due to a fault with the communal lighting timers as a result of the recent power cut. What occurred with the communal lighting yesterday evening was not as result of a failed repair, as the repair was completed this morning.
I have addressed your additional questions as follows:
— The contractor employs qualified electricians to repair communal lighting.
— They are called Lakehouse.
In regards to the hot water, please refer to my email dated 01 February 2012 15:23.
